Trump’s Attorney General Matthew Whitaker Signs up for Team Coleman
CRESTWOOD, Ky. (August 11, 2022) – Kentucky Attorney General Candidate Russell Coleman announced 15 additional high-profile endorsements today, including President Trump’s Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker. More than 90 leading officials publicly support Coleman’s pro-life, pro-police and pro-family campaign to be the Commonwealth’s top cop. The most qualified candidate for Attorney General in Kentucky history continues to rack up widespread support.
“I had the great privilege to work with Russell Coleman as we carried out President Trump’s assignment: Make America Safe Again,” said former Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker. “Russell is a relentless conservative fighter committed to defending our values and keeping families safe from the dangerous drugs coming across the Mexican border and the horror of violent crime. He was one of the best U.S. Attorneys in the country, and I know he’ll make an outstanding Kentucky Attorney General.”
Louis Kelly, Commonwealth’s Attorney for Boone and Gallatin Counties, also endorsed Coleman, noting his commitment to reducing opioid and drug abuse in communities of all sizes across Kentucky. “I have seen the damage that the drug epidemic has caused on a community and its families. There is no one more qualified or determined to tackle this issue than Russell Coleman. Our state needs Russell’s leadership and experience to keep Kentuckians—both in urban and rural areas—safe.”
