‘I’m committed to Back the Blue, put criminals behind bars and keep Kentucky families safe’
CRESTWOOD, Ky. (September 13, 2022) – The Kentucky State Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) announced that it has endorsed Russell Coleman for Attorney General. Coleman was the only 2023 candidate endorsed at the organization’s fall conference, recognizing his strength as the most qualified candidate ever to run for Kentucky Attorney General.
“Over the weekend, Russell Coleman visited with the membership of the Kentucky State Fraternal Order of Police at our Conference in Lexington. These members agreed that there was no better person for the job of Attorney General than Russell Coleman,” said Kentucky State FOP Vice President and Governmental Affairs Director Ryan Straw. “I’m proud to share our endorsement for 2023!”
The Kentucky State FOP joins more than 90 leading officials who have endorsed Coleman’s campaign to fight violent crime, protect Kentucky’s families and defend our shared values.
“It is a uniquely personal honor to be endorsed by the Kentucky State Fraternal Order of Police to serve as Kentucky’s next Attorney General,” Coleman said. “As violent crime surges in communities across the Commonwealth, I’m committed to Back the Blue, put criminals behind bars and keep Kentucky families safe. This is one of the biggest endorsements in the Attorney General’s race, and I am humbled by the support of the men and women who courageously protect our communities. They will always have a strong ally in the Attorney General’s office.”
Coleman has an extensive career in law enforcement, including as President Trump’s U.S. Attorney in West Kentucky, a volunteer state prosecutor and an FBI Special Agent. He is a former member of the FOP’s Lodge One in Washington, D.C., which represents federal and municipal law enforcement agencies headquartered in the Nation’s Capital.
FOP President and Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue previously called Coleman, “the proven leader we need to protect our people and keep our streets safe from violent crime and illegal drugs. Russell will make us proud, and I’m honored to support him.”
